MEET THE FOUNDER

Deborah is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and the visionary behind The OphirGold Foundation. Her journey to founding this organization is deeply personal and rooted in her own experience as a new immigrant to Canada.

Years ago, Deborah arrived in Canada during winter’s cold, chilling depths—filled with hope, determination, and research-backed expectations. However, like many newcomers, she quickly discovered that no amount of research could fully prepare her for the emotional and practical challenges ahead.

Juggling the responsibilities of job hunting, adapting to a new culture, and caring for her two young children—both under the age of two at the time—Deborah found herself overwhelmed. Even the seemingly simple task of finding the proper outfit and building enough confidence to walk into an interview felt like climbing a mountain. It took nearly two years before she found her footing and began to thrive professionally and personally.

Through resilience, faith, and community, Deborah eventually secured her dream job, and with that came a strong sense of purpose: to make the journey smoother for other women like her.

Today, Deborah leverages her professional background in project management, career development, and leadership to empower new immigrant women through practical programs and spiritual support. She brings over a decade of combined experience in nonprofit leadership, career mentorship, and community outreach.

As the Executive Director of The OphirGold Foundation, Deborah is committed to walking alongside women in their own journeys—helping them overcome barriers, discover their God-given potential, and step boldly into the future.

Her story is a testament to grace, grit, and the power of uplifting others. She believes no woman should walk the immigrant journey alone—and through OphirGold, she’s building a community where every woman can rise.

Deborah is a passionate leader, project management professional, and the heart behind The OphirGold Foundation. Her inspiration for founding the organization comes from her own experience—one that mirrors the journey of many women she seeks to empower.

A few years ago, Deborah arrived in Canada during one of the coldest winters she had ever experienced—armed with research, hope, and a strong will to succeed. But reality quickly set in. Despite her preparation, she found herself navigating the overwhelming maze of job applications, unfamiliar systems, and the emotional toll of starting over in a new country. At the same time, she was caring for two young children, both under the age of two.

The challenges were real: rewriting her résumé to meet Canadian standards, applying endlessly for jobs with little response, walking into interviews unsure if her outfit reflected the professional image she wanted to portray, and wrestling with self-doubt. It took nearly two years of hard work, prayer, perseverance, and grace for Deborah to feel settled and confident in her new environment finally.

That experience shaped her heart. She knew that the journey could be smoother for many immigrant women—with the proper support, guidance, and encouragement. That realization gave birth to The OphirGold Foundation.

Today, Deborah channels over a decade of professional experience in project management, nonprofit leadership, and community development into leading OphirGold. She is committed to helping women—especially new immigrants—rebuild, reimagine, and rise. Under her leadership, The OphirGold Foundation provides mentorship, coaching, professional development, and faith-based empowerment rooted in the belief that every woman carries a God-given purpose.

Deborah’s story is not just about overcoming—it’s about creating space for others to thrive. Through Karis, she is on a mission to ensure that no woman walks the path of transition alone.
