Types of Interviews

There are several types of interviews, and knowing what to expect helps you
prepare effectively. Each format may require different approaches and preparation.

  1. Traditional One-on-One Interview:
  • This is the most common format where you meet individually with a hiring
    manager or HR representative.
  • Focus on building rapport and clearly explaining your qualifications.
  1. Panel Interview:
  • Involves multiple interviewers asking questions.
  • Maintain eye contact with the person asking the question, but include others in
    your response by glancing around.
  1. Group Interview:
  • You are interviewed alongside other candidates.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and effective communication.
  • Stand out by showing your ability to collaborate respectfully.
  1. Phone Interview:
  • Often used for initial screening.
  • Find a quiet location, speak clearly, and keep your resume in front of you.
  1. Video Interview:
  • Conducted through platforms like Zoom or Teams.
  • Dress professionally, test your technology, and ensure good lighting and
    background.
  1. Behavioral Interview:
  • Focuses on past experiences to predict future behavior.
  • Use the STARS method to answer behavioral questions effectively.
  1. Case/Technical Interview:
  • Used to evaluate problem-solving or technical skills.
